Biwako Hakodateyama Parking Entrance

Shiga LIVE --:--:-- JST

About the Biwako Hakodateyama Camera

Biwako Hakodateyama is a mountain resort above the western shore of Lake Biwa in Takashima, Shiga. A gondola carries visitors up to a plateau that works as a ski area through the winter and as a flower garden through the summer, with the lake laid out below.

This camera is deliberately practical rather than scenic. It shows the road and the entrance to the car park, just before the toll booth, so you can see the state of the approach before leaving home. The operator is explicit that the slopes and the summit are not in shot.

That makes it most useful in winter. Snow on the access road is the thing that decides whether a trip is worth making, and this is the view that answers the question. In the green season it simply shows how busy the car park is getting.
