Odaiba Rainbow Bridge View

Tokyo LIVE --:--:-- JST

About the Odaiba Rainbow Bridge View Camera

This camera looks across Tokyo Bay from Odaiba toward Rainbow Bridge, the suspension bridge that carries road, rail and a pedestrian walkway between Shibaura on the mainland and the Odaiba waterfront.

The bridge opened in 1993 and spans about 798 metres across the mouth of the inner harbour. It is double-decked: the Shuto Expressway runs on the upper level, while the Yurikamome driverless train and the walkway sit below. On a clear frame you can pick out the Yurikamome cars crossing.

Evening is when the view changes most. The towers and cables carry lighting that shifts through the year, and behind them the Minato waterfront and Tokyo Tower fill in the skyline. Ferries and working harbour traffic pass underneath throughout the day.
