Tokyo Skytree and Tsukiji
About the Skytree and Tsukiji Camera
A 4K camera looking across the water and the low skyline of eastern Tokyo to Tokyo Skytree, taking in the former Tsukiji market site. It streams around the clock and is at its best after dark.
Tsukiji’s inner wholesale market, once the largest fish market in the world, moved to Toyosu in October 2018. The outer market’s food stalls stayed, but the old market grounds beside the Sumida River have been cleared for redevelopment, with a large multipurpose stadium at the centre of the plan.
Skytree, 634 m tall and opened in 2012, is the fixed point on the horizon. At night it alternates between a pale blue and a purple lighting scheme, with special colours for events.
